Moyes on forward fitness, busy schedule and admiring Kompany

David Moyes has been speaking to the media before West Ham's Premier League game against Burnley on Saturday.

Here are the key lines from his news conference:

  • Michail Antonio has got a small injury which is not serious but "it will probably keep him out for a couple of weeks". Jarrod Bowen should be available for selection but Moyes will make a decision tomorrow.

  • On opponents Burnley's adjustment to the top-flight: "It's been a challenge for the promoted teams this season, but I don't think that's anything to say about any gap between the two leagues."

  • West Ham have a "busy schedule" between now and the end of the year: "It's going to be really difficult. I wish someone would look at the scheduling. We're thrilled to be in Europe, we want to compete in the Premier League, and we want to go far in the domestic cups. To do that, you're going to have a very busy schedule."

  • On Clarets manager Vincent Kompany: "I admired him as a player. He had a great career, and I have to say he's had a great start to his managerial career."

  • Moyes recognises that Burnley are in an "incredibly tough battle against relegation" after suffering 10 defeats in their opening 12 games of the season.

  • He added: "It's a really difficult job. There's a lot of stress and worry with it because you're desperate to get away from the bottom end of the table. It's not something I've ever enjoyed or want to do again, if I can help it."
