Burnley 1-4 Chelsea: What Sterling said

Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling speaking to Match of the Day: "I wouldn't say I had something to prove. We started well and conceded, but then we kept playing and kept building. We took our chances and it was a good performance in the end.

"We were disappointed to go behind, but it just shows that we are not giving up and we are building a foundation and making these steps week in, week out.

"I took the strike and I'm happy to score. We're just building, that's all we can do. Just keep building and keep working on the training field to replicate that in matches."

On Nicholas Jackson: "Nicolas Jackson is energetic. He gets about, helps the team defensively, and he makes good runs. [I'm] grateful that he took his chance.

"Even before we conceded I wanted to be direct and take on my man, whenever I got the opportunity, and I was capable of doing that on multiple occasions."

On the Chelsea fans: "The fans are travelling here even though we're not at the peak of what we should be doing. They see what the manager and players are trying to do. We just want to connect with our fans, keep winning for them, and make them smile."
