West Ham v Olympiakos: Pick of the stats
- Published
This is West Ham United’s first home European match against Olympiakos since November 1965, when they won 4-0 in the Uefa Cup Winners’ Cup.
Olympiakos lost their first 12 major European matches in England but have since won three of their past six, with all those victories coming against Arsenal (2015, 2020 and 2021).
The Hammers' 17-game unbeaten run in European competition (including qualifiers) was ended with a 2-1 defeat at Olympiakos on matchday three.
The victory for Olympiakos ended a run of 11 games without a win in the Europa League (D3 L8). They haven’t won consecutive games in the competition since a run of three between March and September 2021.
No player has created more chances in the Europa League than West Ham’s James Ward-Prowse (11), who has also created more chances from set-pieces than anyone else (10).
