Matthew Maynard appointed St Lucia assistant coach

Former Glamorgan coach Matthew Maynard has taken up a new post as assistant coach with West Indian side St Lucia

The ex-England batsman had a two-year spell as coach of Nashua Titans in South Africa,

He steered the Titans to four-day and T20 trophies in 2012 before the tragic death of his son Tom in June 2012.

His latest role sees him working under St Lucia head coach Andy Roberts, the former West Indies paceman, for this summer's Caribbean T20 Premier League.

Maynard travelled to Jamaica for the draft selection process for the month-long tournament and the side picked up former Glamorgan batsman Herschelle Gibbs as one of their overseas players.
