Exeter City have signed defender Danny Butterfield on undisclosed terms, subject to him passing a medical.
Butterfield, 33, was a free agent after leaving Carlisle United by mutual consent earlier this month, having made one appearance at Brunton Park.
He has played 491 league and cup games for Grimsby, Crystal Palace, Charlton, Southampton, Bolton and Carlisle.
The Boston-born full-back was not included in the Grecians squad for Saturday's home game against Newport.
