Cheltenham Town 2-2 Hartlepool United

  • Published

Jonathan Franks' double helped Hartlepool come from two goals down to earn a point at Cheltenham.

Jermaine McGlashan got the Robins started from an acute angle when he capitalised on some hesitation in the Pools defence.

West Brom loanee Kemar Roofe looped in a header to double the lead on his full home debut.

Franks pulled one back when he latched on to Scott Flinders' long ball, and then levelled with an 18-yard strike.

Post-match: Cheltenham manager Mark Yates

Cheltenham Town manager Mark Yates told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"I thought we were great first half and thoroughly deserved a two-goal lead, the conditions were tricky, it was windy, bouncy and a gale was blowing straight down the middle of the pitch.

"We nearly got a decent performance, but second half, we didn't play the conditions as well as we would have wanted, it was difficult to play out there, but they were at their most dangerous when they had a goal-kick.

"Unfortunately, we got caught by two bad goals and it's cost us a couple of points."
