Everton's Luke Garbutt extends Colchester United loan

Colchester United have extended Everton defender Luke Garbutt's loan spell by a month until early February.

The 20-year-old's deal expired on Saturday but he will now be available for the weekend visit of Gillingham.

Left-back Garbutt has scored three times in 18 appearances and missed just one game since joining the League One side in September.

"It's great that we have been able to extend Luke's time here," manager Joe Dunne told the Colchester website., external

"He has shown his qualities in his time here, both defensively and when he attacks, and we were obviously keen to keep him longer."
