Exeter City midfielder Jimmy Keohane has signed a new contract.

The 23-year-old from Ireland joined the club in August 2011 after being released by Bristol City.

Exeter have not disclosed how long Keohane's contract is, but he signed his last deal at St James Park in 2012.

He has scored six goals in 61 appearances for the Grecians and was part of the club's Under-21 side which made the last eight of the Premier League Cup last season.

Keohane is the first player to commit to the club since it was handed a transfer embargo last week after taking out a loan from the Professional Footballers Association following cash-flow problems.

City are allowed to re-sign players who were already at the club last season, but cannot bring in any new players until the loan is repaid, which the club says it is planning to do by the start of August.

He joins goalkeeper , external and defender Jordan Moore-Taylor in signing new deals at St James Park.

Goalkeeper James Hamon, winger Arron Davies and midfielder Matt Oakley are still to agree offers from the club.
