Macclesfield's unbeaten home run continued as they held on for a point to Forest Green in the Conference.

The visitors went in front early on as Elliott Frear got his first goal since a summer move from Salisbury, finding the net from the edge of the box.

Paul Lewis equalised as he headed in Waide Fairhurst's cross, and provider turned scorer as Fairhurst put the Silkmen in front from long range.

But Lee Hughes' 25-yard effort ensured Rovers left the Moss Rose with a draw.

Forest Green manager Ady Pennock told BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"After going 2-1 down we showed a lot of character and there was some good football played, so I was pleased.

"Elliott Frear's looking really bright, I really do believe he's one of the best wingers in the league.

"I'm not here to have a go at the referee, it's a difficult job for him, so we have to move on, but we should have had a definite penalty."
