Darren Lavery bagged a brace as Berwick Rangers jumped into fifth place in League Two.
The win was in doubt until the final moments of a hard-fought match, when a cross from Andrew Russell allowed the striker to net from close range.
Lavery had curled a shot past Richard Barnard from outside the box to opening the scoring on 26 minutes.
East Stirling's hopes of a comeback were dented when Steven Brisbane was sent off for two bookable offences.
