Bristol Rovers 2-0 Lincoln City

  • Published

Promotion-chasing Bristol Rovers recorded a comfortable victory over Lincoln City.

Matty Taylor lashed a close-range shot against the bar, with Imps keeper Paul Farman rooted to the spot early on.

Ben Tomlinson hit the side-netting for the visitors before Lee Brown's effort nestled into the bottom-right corner to give the Pirates the lead.

Minutes later Taylor held the ball up well and fed in Nathan Blissett, who tapped home to double the advantage.

Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke told BBC Radio Bristol:

"It was a very good, solid performance. We were disciplined and played some good football at times.

"Perhaps we could have had a few more goals. Matty Taylor had an unfortunate afternoon in front of goal.

"He hit the crossbar and the post and then the keeper's chin.

"It was a good, hard-working performance and it was nice to get back to the Mem."
