Coventry City 1-1 Scunthorpe United

  • Published

Marcus Tudgay scored in stoppage time to rescue a point for Coventry after ex-Sky Blue Gary McSheffrey had put Scunthorpe ahead in the first half.

McSheffrey struck a perfectly executed left-footed free-kick from just outside the area to give the Iron the lead.

Coventry nearly levelled through Aaron Martin's header but goalkeeper Luke Daniels produced a good save.

The equaliser did eventually come when Tudgay received a long ball from John Fleck and dinked over the keeper.

Scunthorpe United manager Mark Robins told BBC Radio Humberside:

Robins on Coventry v Scunthorpe

"They didn't do anything to us and they didn't really hurt us in any part of the game, I thought we cruised it.

"It was massively disappointing because we have got to learn to keep clean sheets, so I'm annoyed and angry.

"We've got to learn because that was poor, sloppy, no communication and it gets them off the hook.

"It's a really bitter pill to swallow and we've got to learn and grow up."
