John-Joe O'Toole now has one red and eight yellow cards this season
Marc Richards' stoppage-time penalty rescued a point for Northampton at Mansfield, as John-Joe O'Toole was sent off on a day dedicated to him.
Hundreds of travelling Cobblers fans donned wigs and headbands in honour of O'Toole, who saw red after 36 minutes for lashing out at Ritchie Sutton.
It seemed Vadaine Oliver's close-range goal after the break would be enough for the Stags.
But Junior Brown fouled Ivan Toney and Richards converted the late spot-kick.
It was a deserved point for the Cobblers, who are eight points below the play-offs, while Mansfield move two points above the drop zone.
Mansfield Town manager Adam Murray told BBC Radio Nottingham:
"I'm devastated. In hindsight it's a good point, but having been in the lead we feel raw.
"It's a draw but it feels like we have been beat. We are hurting at the minute but we will come out fighting on Tuesday. It was never a penalty."
Northampton Town assistant manager Alan Knill told BBC Radio Northampton:
"We're delighted to get a point at the end, but I thought we could have even had all three.
Knill on Northampton v Mansfield
"I thought we were excellent in the second half and with 10 men we really took the game to Mansfield.
"With the fans we had here it felt like we were the home team, it was a fantastic effort by the supporters and by the team."

More than 1,000 Northampton Town fans made the trip to Mansfield, many of whom were dressed up for John-Joe O'Toole Day
