Eastleigh are in their first season in the Conference after winning Conference South last season

Eastleigh boosted their hopes of a Conference play-off place with a convincing win over promotion-chasing Macclesfield Town.

The home side took the lead when Harry Pell's header flew in off the shoulder of Silkmen defender Thierry Audel.

James Constable nodded in the second after Craig McAllister headed Jai Reason's cross back across goal.

Reason curled in the third from the corner of the box before Deon Burton tapped home Constable's pull back.

Eastleigh's victory saw them move to within two points of the play-off places before the rest of Saturday's programme, while Macclesfield missed the chance to at least temporarily close the six-point gap on leaders Bristol Rovers.
