Elliott Hewitt remains at Colchester United on loan

Colchester United have extended the loan spell of Ipswich Town wideman Elliott Hewitt by a further month.

The 20-year-old initially joined the League One side in October and has gone on to make 20 appearances, featuring at full-back and right-wing.

He missed three games after being sent off in January, but was impressive in Saturday's 3-2 win over Bristol City.

"Elliott has done very well for us and gives us a different option," said U's boss Tony Humes.

"I think we missed him when he was out suspended and he has been great since he's been back, including two assists in Saturday's win against Bristol City."
