Shaun Barker has not played a competitive match since 13 March 2012
Derby County club captain Shaun Barker is having a trial at Sheffield United.
The 32-year-old defender recently made his return to first-team training with the Rams after missing almost three years of action.
The former Rotherham and Blackpool man dislocated his right knee cap and damaged ligaments in a match against Nottingham Forest in March 2012.
Barker, who played under Blades boss Nigel Clough for Derby, played for the club's Under-21s on Monday.
