Exeter boss Paul Tisdale has praised veteran full-back Jamie McAllister after the club's 0-0 draw at York City.

It was the first time the former Scotland international has started at full-back since joining in January.

"You wont see a performance with as many proper disciplined, correct decisions minute after minute," Tisdale told BBC Radio Devon.

"He was symptomatic of a very focused back four so well done to him, playing his position extremely well."

The draw ended a two-game losing run for Tisdale's side, although they have not won a game since beating Mansfield 3-2 at Field Mill on 17 January.

"We've been very competitive on the road lately, I've got no gripe with the team be it Bury, be it Oxford, be it Portsmouth, I think we've been very competitive in looking to win every game we've played in," said Tisdale.

"We haven't come away with a win in the last half a dozen games away from home, but we've certainly been in them."
