Bury captain Nathan Cameron scored the only goal of the game to secure his side's third straight win
Nathan Cameron scored the only goal of the game against Port Vale as Bury secured their third straight victory.
Danny Mayor and Jacob Mellis both saw 20-yard shots saved while Uche Ikpeazu's close-range effort was blocked for Vale.
Both sides failed to register a meaningful effort on goal in the second half, before Cameron's downward header from a corner broke the deadlock.
Bury are now unbeaten in five, while Vale have lost back-to-back matches.
Bury manager David Flitcroft told BBC Radio Manchester:
Flitcroft on Bury v Port Vale
"It was quite a bitty game - a game that was defragmented at times. We couldn't get our fluidity going at all.
"I watched Port Vale in the week and they looked quite vulnerable at set-pieces. We'd done a little bit of work on it, and Chris Hussey's deliveries were outstanding."
