Substitute Scott McBride was the Albion hero in a tight win for his side at Stranraer.
The midfielder latched on to a pass by Paul Willis to beat David McGurn.
The home side had a chance to win it themselves just before the goal; Peter McGill having a fierce shot at Ross Stewart's goal but hit over by fractions.
Scott Rumsby's header was also cleared off the line as they fell into the bottom two in League One.
