Partick Thistle's Ryan Edwards extends contract on birthday

Ryan Edwards has extended his Partick Thistle contract until the end of next season as he celebrated his 23rd birthday.

The Scottish Premiership club announced that the midfielder had triggered an extension after playing in all 17 first-team games this season.

Singapore-born Edwards has scored three goals in 17 months following his move from Reading.

He has represented Australia at under-20 and under-23 level.
