Juventus opened up a seven-point lead at the top of Serie A after victory over Atalanta, their 24th successive Serie A home win.

Brazilian defender Alex Sandro slotted home after beating two players before unveiling a shirt paying tribute to the victims of the plane crash involving Brazil's Chapecoense football team.

Headers by Daniele Rugani and Croatia forward Mario Mandzukic made it 3-0.

Remo Freuler hit a late consolation for Atalanta, who stay fifth in the table.

Both AC Milan and Roma can cut Juve's lead to four points if they win their games on Sunday.

Milan host struggling Crotone (11:30 GMT) while Roma face Lazio later in the Rome derby (14:00 GMT).
