Marc-Antoine Fortune: Southend United striker extends stay at Roots Hall

French striker Marc-Antoine Fortune has signed a new contract with Southend United, keeping him at Roots Hall until the end of the 2017-18 season.

The 35-year-old joined Southend as a free agent in September, and has scored two goals in 21 appearances.

Fortune began his career in 1998 and has played in the top divisions in France, the Netherlands, England and Scotland.

Southend are seventh in League One, one point off a play-off spot.
