Macclesfield Town 1-3 Woking

  • Published

Goals from Jason Banton, Joe Ward and Inih Effiong sealed victory for Woking in the National League against Macclesfield at Moss Rose.

Macclesfield opened the scoring when Elliott Durrell claimed his first goal for the club, heading in a fine cross from Tyrone Marsh, and two minutes later Durrell nearly doubled the lead when he volleyed just wide.

But Woking were level when Banton's shot took a deflection before crossing the line, and they were in front five minutes before the break when Joe Ward beat Shwan Jalal after going one-on-one with the Macclesfield keeper.

After the break, Macclesfield's Danny Whitaker's shot hit the post, and Effiong also struck the woodwork before securing the win in stoppage time with his side's third goal.
