Barnet 2-0 Aldershot Town

  • Published

Barnet extended their unbeaten National League run to five matches with a 2-0 home win over relegation battlers Aldershot.

Ephron Mason-Clark and Shaquile Coulthirst struck in the second half as the Bees recorded a fourth straight clean sheet to pull further clear of the survival scrap.

There was little to chose between the sides during the first half but Mason-Clark broke the deadlock shortly after the restart, heading in a cross by Elliott Johnson via the woodwork.

Aldershot had an equaliser from Scott Rendell ruled out for offside and Bernard Mensah headed over.

But Coulthirst wrapped up victory for the hosts with five minutes left following a swift counter.

The Shots, in 22nd, are left 10 points adrift of safety with six games left, while the Bees are up to 16th.
