Boreham Wood 2-2 Solihull Moors

  • Published

Idris Kanu grabbed a late equaliser to dent Solihull Moors' National League promotion push at Boreham Wood.

Solihull opened the scoring in the ninth minute through Nathan Blissett.

After Adi Yussuf played Blissett through, his effort was well saved by home goalkeeper George Legg, only for the ball to rebound in off Wood defender Jamal Fyfield and a post.

Ralston Gabriel then headed just wide as the hosts pushed for an equaliser but the striker was not to be denied in the 26th minute when he nodded home the rebound after David Stephens' powerful header was cleared off the line from a Keiran Murtagh corner.

The Moors thought they won it in the 70th minute when Jermaine Hylton beat his marker before drilling a low cross for Yussuf to tap in from close range for his 20th goal of the season.

But Kanu thumped home Femi Ilesanmi's cross with two minutes remaining to salvage a late point for the hosts.
