Salford City 2-1 Bromley

  • Published

Salford boosted their National League promotion hopes with two goals in the final three minutes to beat Bromley.

The visitors looked set to claim a surprise victory when JJ Hooper scored from the spot with five minutes to go.

Lois Maynard produced an immediate response, however, heading in Scott Wiseman's cross.

Nathan Pond then headed home deep into stoppage time to complete the turnaround and leave Salford one point behind leaders Leyton Orient, who have two games in hand.

Salford dominated the first half as Ibou Touray's early free-kick struck the Bromley crossbar and Carl Piergianni's header was cleared off the line.

The hosts' frustration continued after half-time as Rory Gaffney's shot was blocked but they ultimately emerged triumphant to leapfrog Solihull Moors into second spot.
