Goals: Dundee recover to draw 2-2 with Dunfermline
Dundee fought back from 2-0 down with two contentious penalties to salvage a draw against Dunfermline Athletic in their Scottish Championship opener.
A Ryan Dow strike and Kevin Nisbet header had the hosts firmly in control.
But on the stroke of half-time Dow was penalised for handball and Danny Johnson converted the spot-kick.
The Dundee striker added a second penalty 15 minutes from time after going down under a challenge from Aaron Comrie and Lee Ashcroft.
Dundee, in their first league outing since relegation, were outplayed in the first half as Dunfermline's fast start caught them cold.
Striker Nisbet, a summer signing from Raith Rovers, was quick to impress although his goal owed a debt to Dundee goalkeeper Jack Hamilton who completely missed Dow's cross.
Nisbet rattled the crossbar with an audacious effort before Dundee grabbed a lifeline when a cross hit Dow's hand.
Dundee manager James McPake made two changes at half-time, Declan McDaid and Josh Todd replacing Josh Meekings and Andrew Nelson.
But it required another disputed call from referee Greg Aitken to stave off an opening defeat as Johnson took his tally to three goals in two games since his move from Motherwell.
Were the decisions correct?
Should this have been a penalty?
Penalty one: Although the ball travels from distance and skidded off the ground, Dow's arm is out wider than normal, so the award was correct under the interpretation of the new laws.
Penalty two: Under the new rules, if a player challenges in a reckless manner, he runs the risk of a penalty, even if he gets the ball. The challenge could be deemed reckless so, again, the decision is right.
