Padraig Amond of Newport County challenges Olly Lancashire of Crewe Alexandra
Padraig Amond scored a dramatic late winner at Rodney Parade as Newport County knocked Crewe Alexandra off the top of League Two.
In the process Michael Flynn's side rose into the play-off spots, taking over in fifth, one place above the visitors.
The game was heading for a draw before Amond latched onto Tristan Abrahams' pass.
Amond found the bottom right corner to send Crewe home empty-handed.
Newport boss Michael Flynn told BBC Sport Wales: "We didn't turn up until the 88th minute so we were poor today.
"I'm not going to dress it up. We were really poor going forward, but as a team we defended well, limited their chances - I don't think they had one clear-cut chance.
"And they've gone for the win and it's cost them."
