Arbroath moved level on points with third-placed Inverness CT with victory over Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Championship.

Substitute Luke Donnelly strode onto a Bobby Linn pass to coolly fire low past keeper Ryan Scully early in the second half.

The Pars had failed to take advantage of the strong wind advantage in the first half.

And the Fife side now sit second bottom of the division, without a win.

Arbroath manager Dick Campbell: "It was a good performance, no goals lost. Our goalie didn't have a shot to save. We defended really resolutely and adapted to the conditions slightly better I thought."

Dunfermline manager Steve Crawford: "We never created enough chances, never had enough shots at goal and never put enough crosses in the box to win a game of football. We got done with a bad goal on the counter attack and we're extremely disappointed with that because if we're going to concede goals like that we're going to make it difficult."
