Paul Lawrie's fine from continued at The Open before fading light delayed the end of his second round.
The 1999 winner took his tally of birdies for the tournament to 10 as he moved eight under par after 30 holes.
Lawrie and seven-under Marc Warren's fellow Scot Richie Ramsay finished one under with Danny Willett the clubhouse leader on nine under.

Ramsay made the field at this year's Open via the reserve list
But Sandy Lyle, Stephen Gallacher and Russell Knox look likely to miss the projected even-par cut.
Gallacher shot a second straight 73 while Knox was also two over.
Lyle, who won the tournament in 1985, began his second round on one under but suffered seven bogeys before getting a birdie - his third of the day - at the 18th hole. He finished on three over.
Warren, 34, birdied five holes, bogeying two, as he moved into contention while Ramsay, 32, birdied the 18th to finish under par at the midway stage.
Friday's play was subject to a rain delay, causing Lawrie and several others to have to wait until Saturday to complete their second round.
The 46-year-old is the last Scot to win the tournament and play will resume at 07:00 BST on Saturday. Dustin Johnson leads on 10 under after 31 holes.
"Got to the 13th green before stopping for bad light , -2 for the day -8 for tournament , support amazing again," tweeted Lawrie, external late on Friday night.
