Chris Rowe: Leigh second-row joins Barrow on loan deal

Barrow Raiders have signed second row Chris Rowe on a season-long loan from Championship rivals Leigh Centurions.

The 19-year-old, who can also play at centre, left Wigan for Leigh in 2011, but has not made his first-team debut.

Formerly an England international at schoolboy level, Nixon becomes the 10th close-season arrival at Craven Park.

He is the second loan signing after Scott Turner joined from Warrington in what has been a busy winter since Anthony Murray was appointed as coach.
