Scholey has a reputation as goalkicking forward, like Widnes' Danny Tickle or ex-Hull FC player Sammy Lloyd.
Workington Town have signed forward Stevie Scholey from Cumbrian amateur side Maryport for the 2015 season.
Scholey, who has played for the British Amateur Rugby League Association's Great Britain side, is a goal-kicker who can play in the front or back row.
Scholey featured for Town in the pre-season matches against Whitehaven and Wigan.
"We are delighted to have Stevie commit to the club," Town vice-chairman Mark Fryer said.
