Do we need longer to cross the road?

A charity which represents pedestrians says pelican crossings do not give people enough time to reach the other side of the road safely.

Living Streets wants the green man to stay lit for an extra three seconds.

It says it would make crossing easier for those who are less mobile, such as elderly people.
