1. Au revoir, arrivederci, auf wiedersehen...petpublished at 16:36 BST 13 May 2016

An appropriately European sign-off, ahead of a weekend of entertainment shenanigans dominated by the Cannes Film Festival and the Eurovision Song Contest.

For fans of the latter, Eurovision kicks off on BBC One at 20:00 BST on Saturday, with Graham Norton providing some much-needed light relief between stirring ballads and outlandish operatics. The UK's Joe and Jake are the penultimate performers, so the patriotic among you will have to grin and bear it!

Russia are the current favourites to win, while Norton himself has tipped Australia - read what he had to say about this year's performers in our Eurovision diary earlier today.

With our reporters giving you all the latest from Stockholm and Cannes - and a special Eurovision live page kicking off tomorrow at 19:30 BST, you're spoiled for choice!

    Hasta la vista.

  2. Watch your toes!published at 16:33 BST 13 May 2016

Blake Lively is starring in a shark attack thriller, so she naturally took questions from journalists at Cannes in front of fake shark fins.

The Shallows sees her play a surfer who gets stranded just off a deserted shoreline and must summon all her strength to reach safety.

The tagline for the movie is: "What was once in the deep is now in the shallows" - hence the film's name.

By the sounds of it, it's going to make another generation fear the sea (or even the bathtub) just like Jaws did it in its day.

The Accountant sees Affleck play a numbers genius with a double life.

It's mid-May - but in La-La land it's almost Oscar season again, so here's a trailer for the film being released in October. Accountancy just got thrilling...

  7. First Look: A Catalogue of Errors by Stephane Graffpublished at 15:26 BST 13 May 2016

An exclusive first look for you now on the Entertainment Live page at a new art exhibition opening next week in London.

A Catalogue of Errors is a collection of works by the British/French artist Stephane Graff, who's chosen to focus on the world of art auctions.

Each work in the exhibition is split in half - with some text from an auction catalogue printed on the left, and an existing famous artwork that Graff has recreated in paint on the right.

Just one problem - the text from the auction house doesn't actually have anything to do with the artwork next to it.

    Don't worry, it's deliberate.

Graff is questioning the way auctions houses standardise masterpieces – reducing them to a monetary value or a famous name.

Artists are often unhappy with the way auction houses value or describe their work, as they sometimes print simplified explanations of artworks and miss deeper meanings intended by the artist.

By mixing the up the paintings and the explanations, Graff is essentially suggesting that the text that auctioneers write about artworks are easily interchangeable.

    Quote Message

My diptychs emulate the double page format of auction catalogues such as Sotheby's and Christie's. The text element, which I make as a silkscreen, is always on the left side and on the right is my painting of a known artwork.

    Quote Message

However, the two sides never match up as you would expect. I'm interchanging names, titles, ideas from one artwork to another like a crazy museum. It can suggest new meanings to an artwork, like seeing it from a different angle. I'm drawn to the tension and irony that's created through these juxtapositions.

A Catalogue of Errors opens at the Almine Rech gallery on 19 May.

    Quote Message

A week before we are going to go into rehearsals on Broadway with Cats, which luckily I'm not producing, I get the news that she's decided to do X Factor, having agreed everything. I mean, she's crazy but the American producers just took the view 'that we'll just get somebody else' because she's not actually very well-known in America, amazingly, and she's much better known here.

Not one to hold back, the musical impresario continued:

    Quote Message

I'm furious because I really believe she's the most fantastically talented girl, and I went out on a limb to get her into the Palladium here and it makes me look like an absolute 'twot' with them all. Never mind, there will be another girl on Broadway and Nicole will not get her Tony Award.

LeToya Luckett, an original member of Destiny's Child, will play the singer in the biopic - in which Lady Gaga will also appear as Cilla Black.
