  12. New rail links to Heathrow 'essential' if third runway builtpublished at 17:00 GMT 30 November 2016

Concerns over air pollution around Heathrow mean new rail links to the airport will be essential if a third runway is to get the go ahead, the government has confirmed.

Transport Secretary Chris Grayling said the government had some concerns over costs, after budgets rose for the Crossrail project to link the airport to central London.

But he said new rail lines between Heathrow, Reading and London's Waterloo Station would be "essential" for meeting legal targets on clean air.

  13. A guide to understanding the types of ambulance callpublished at 16:05 GMT 30 November 2016

Control room operators are responsible for putting emergency calls into categories which make it easier to determine how urgent an ambulance is needed at the scene.

Each category has a response time - with the quickest response being eight minutes for life threatening emergencies.

Red 1 and Red 2 are the most urgent categories, with the first being for respiratory/cardiac arrest where two resources are dispatched to the incident and the second for all other life threatening situations.

    Control room phone operator

Then there are Green 1, 2, 3 and 4. Green 1 and 2 are for serious but not life threatening calls with a response time of 20-30 minutes and blue lights and sirens.

Green 3 and 4 are neither serious nor life threatening. An operator will give an assessment over the phone for Green 3 within 20 minutes and the response time for both categories is 60 minutes with no blue lights.

  17. Reading FC sale 'would not include land around the stadium'published at 14:16 GMT 30 November 2016

    Tim Dellor
    BBC Berkshire sport editor

Reading FC's current Thai owners intend to retain ownership of land around the Madejski Stadium in any deal to sell the club.

The consortium, which took took control of the Championship club in September 2014, want to keep the site earmarked for redevelopment, as well as the Millennium Madejski Hotel.

Fans have always had their suspicions that Lady Sasima Srivikorn, Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth and Narin Niruttinanon were only ever interested in the value of the real estate, rather than the football club.

If this deal happens it would just confirm those suspicions.

The club is making no comment at the moment.

  20. Who are the brother and sister vying to buy Reading FC?published at 13:55 GMT 30 November 2016

    Tim Dellor
    BBC Berkshire sport editor

The prospective new owners of Reading FC failed in an attempt to purchase Premier League side Hull City in September.

That deal fell through amid speculation, external that brother and sister Dai Yongge and Dai Xui Li had not passed the FA's fit and proper person test.

My source tells me Yongge is extremely ambitious to turn Reading into a Premier League club, and is already being encouraged to invest in the squad during the January transfer window.

Yongge is a Chinese businessman who speaks no English.

He favours Reading as an investment because he already flies in and out of London regularly for business meetings, and I’m told he likes the demographics Reading offer.

The club have so far declined to comment.
