A Gloucester-based energy company looks set to benefit from a £1.3bn tidal lagoon project in Swansea Bay.

Water entering or leaving the lagoons will rush past turbines connected to electricity generators.

Tidal Lagoon Power, which has a base at Gloucester Docks, hopes this could lead to a development of larger lagoons around the UK coast.

There are plans to build one of them near Bridgwater.
