This is a rare occurrence that has taken place in broad daylight on a busy road at a busy time of day. There would have been people around as this was during the school drop-off period. The victim was left with a painful injury to her face in a totally unprovoked assault, and we would like to identify the person responsible.

A man walking his dogs along a New Jersey beach has found a bottle containing a note on Cunard cruise notepaper, which appears to have been written by someone from England.

Vince Stango told the Asbury Park Press the note in the bottle he found in Harvey Cedars was written on stationery from the Southampton-based firm.

It read: "Found the bottle? Read this note? I'm Stuart, if you wish, call or mail me. Speak or mail soon. England Stuart."

Mr Stango sent a message to the email address that was provided and called two phone numbers in the UK, but he's had no response so far.

The council said ongoing land movement means the only access to the beach is now either near Compton Farm Cottages or at Brook car park.

Beach users have been advised to take extra care because of the slope's instability, and to check tide times.

Henderson, who is detained in a mental health unit, claimed more than £300,000 from the NHS trust, saying the death arose from inadequate care.

Her barrister said the Court of Appeal would decide "within a couple of months" whether to allow the case to proceed.
