Introduce retrospective bans and it will be gone. I'm stunned it's not been introduced.

    Quote Message

Certain teams would have three or four players done immediately, from a warning in private to the manager up to a three-game ban. It's simple to officiate. You have a panel of experts and give out bans.

In a victim statement read in court, the girl’s mother said her daughter had always been a happy, carefree, child, but after the offences came to light, she had become withdrawn and had been prescribed medication for anxiety.

Speaking after the hearing, Senior Crown Prosecutor Claire Hilton said Garratt "would have been well aware that his actions were wholly unacceptable".

“He took advantage of a young and impressionable girl by trying to make her feel special.

"He showed utter disregard for any long term impact his actions could have on her.

Jailing him for 14 months, Judge Jacqueline Beech dismissed Garratt's defence that his sexual messages were "pure fantasy", adding: “You insist she was the one who started sending images, although you accept you were the adult in the relationship.

“Whatever the position... you encouraged this relationship to develop in the way it did.”

A hearing has begun in Manchester in a case brought by the president of Blackpool against the football club's owner, Owen Oyston.

    Valeri Belokon

Valeri Belokon is making a civil claim against Segesta Ltd - Mr Oyston's operating company that owns the club's ground Bloomfield Road - following construction of two stands at the stadium.

He claims he invested about £5m to support construction work and agreed in 2008 with Segesta that any future income from the stands would be split 50/50 between the two companies.

Mr Belekon says Oyston has failed to keep agreements made when he bought a stake in the club 10 years ago.

Early questioning from Mr Oyston's lawyers has centred on whether Belekon is claiming entitlement to half the revenue from the new hotel under the south stand.

Belokon is bringing the case to recover monies that he believes his company, VB Football Assets, is now owed.
