Boris Johnson took care to offer a serious speech to the Tory conference earlier in Manchester - with some saying it was his best performance in front of the party faithful. But it wouldn't be a Boris speech without some jokes:
Image source, PAQuote Message"We will extend the northern line to Battersea - or the Wandsworth powerhouse, as it is probably now called in the Treasury."
Quote Message"The only type of crime currently going up is the theft of City Hall policies - a crime I entirely condone."
Quote Message"We won because the British people did not trust Ed Miliband to manage the economy and so it is unbelievable now to see the Labour party has been piratically captured in a kind of social media twitstorm by what Harold Wilson once called a small group of politically motivated men. And I know these people, my friends - they are the London Labour party, Trots and militants with vested interests and indeed interesting vests."

On 5 August, following a summer of allegations and accusations, Kids Company closed its doors in south London for the final time after 19 years. Filmmaker Lynn Alleway was there, filming throughout as the walls came tumbling down.
Ten years ago, Lynn made the film Tough Love - Tough Kids, spending a year filming with Camila and Kids Company.
A decade on she returned to the charity with a view to bringing that film up to date, at a time when many charities were struggling under financial pressures. While she was filming, the organisation was engulfed in the crisis that would ultimately lead to its closure.
It will be transmitted on BBC One next year.

Image source, RSPCAKirstie Gillard from the RSPCA said: "The pigeon had its leg and part of the wing caught in netting around a solar panel. We think he had been there since the night before. He was completely tangled and there was no way he would have escaped without help.
"The caller said there had been other pigeons on the roof who had come and gone - possibly visiting their friend.”
The bird is expected to make a full recovery and the charity has warned against using unsuitable netting that can trap or harm wildlife.
