Jake Daniels: Blackpool player says Jordan Henderson move to Saudi a 'slap in the face'
Blackpool forward Jake Daniels, the only gay active British male professional footballer, says Jordan Henderson's move to Saudi Arabia side Al-Ettifaq feels like a "slap in the face" because of the country's views on same-sex relationships.
Same-sex sexual activity is against the law in Saudi Arabia, with the death penalty the legally prescribed punishment.
Former Liverpool midfielder Henderson reached out to Daniels on social media to show support after he came out in May 2022, and has been a vocal ally of the LGBTQ+ community.
