And that my friends is that for another night of boxing.

Josh Taylor wins, stopping Ryan Martin to move into the World Boxing Super Series semi-final at super-lightweight. Read all about it by clicking here.

Perhaps more noteworthy is the fact Northern Ireland's Ryan Burnett is no longer a world champion as injury robbed him of his WBA bantamweight belt. Nonito Donaire took the strap after the Briton retired on his stool with what appears to be a slipped disc.

You can read about that bout here.

And from me, that's it. Come back to the site on Monday for Tony Bellew's column as he prepares to fight Oleksandr Usyk next Saturday. We will be live-texting that one too and will bring you plenty of build-up through the week.

Thanks for joining us on a night of mixed emotions.

Sleep well!

After his seventh round win over Ryan Martin, Josh Taylor advances to the semi-finals where he'll meet Ivan Baranchyk for the IBF super-lightweight world title.

The 25-year-old from Belarus is unbeaten in 19 fights with 12 knockouts.

A big step up from tonight's action.

Promoter Kalle Sauerland, one of boxing's lively characters, has produced a selfie with Josh Taylor and believes rather than 'The Tartan Tornado', Taylor should label himself a 'Typhoon'.

"Scotland be proud," adds Sauerland.

If you're just tuning in, while Josh Taylor's win over Ryan Martin was comfortable, earlier we saw an injury which looked anything but.

Ryan Burnett, a hero of Northern Ireland, had to give up his WBA world bantamweight title on his stool due to an injury. He was forced to retire after four rounds, leaving Nonito Donaire with the title and a semi-final spot in the World Boxing Super Series.

Ron Lewis of The Times offers his latest on Burnett's state...

Tony Bellew - who fights next week and will feature prominently on our site from Monday - has his say...

As per Carl Frampton's words on that last entry.

If Ricky Martin throws a hook as well as he wears a bow tie, Frampton may well be right.

Josh Taylor after his win over Ryan Martin: "That was alright, weren't it? It was good.

"Nobody is beating me in this Hydro, man. Best fans in the world.

"I'm coming into my prime. I said leading up to this fight I was performing the best in the gym. I'm into my prime years and it's starting to tell in my performances. I just beat a really good fighter and there's nothing that's gonna stop me winning this tournament. I'm bringing the titles to Glasgow. "

Author and writer for the Guardian Donald McRae says it how it is....

Josh Taylor's trainer Shane McGuigan: "That was such a mature, measured performance. He learned so much from his last fight. That was his 14th fight tonight and tonight he did everything that was asked of him.

"Next time is a completely different task but he is winning this tournament in style."

It's a world-title shot next for Josh Taylor as Ron Lewis of The Times points out.

Remember, fighters who bring a world title into the World Boxing Super Series will lose their belt if beaten.

That was an impressive, impressive display from Josh Taylor, who remains unbeaten. Scotland has another boxing hero to keep tabs with.

In truth, the stoppage in isolation was harsh. Ryan Martin made his feet easily and could have carried on but perhaps the fact he was dominated so much throughout the contest was enough to influence the referee.

Josh Taylor could take a few rounds off if he needs to. Some blood trickles from Ryan Martin's left eye. He throws two jabs which don't get close. Another right hand gets through but it's not carrying big power.

This is his best round but will Taylor up things? Yes he will, a brilliant left hook and another.

Suddenly Martin is on the deck.... He's in BIG, BIG TROUBLE.

It was a left hook again, a third in just a few seconds. Martin contests it was on the back of his head and it does look like it was just behind the ear.

The American fell into the ropes, made it to his feet quickly but the referee has seen enough.

Josh Taylor wins and reaches the World Boxing Super Series semi-final.

A former world champion has it "one sided"...

"Last minute" comes the call from Josh Taylor's corner.

An uppercut to the chest of Ryan Martin is brilliantly timed again. Josh Taylor is dancing like he's on Strictly.

Ryan Martin's heart is broken, like a teenager experiencing a dumping on Valentine's Day.

Josh Taylor, at this rate, will break his man down before the bell.

A minute of the sixth gone. Martin now looks cut above his eye and suddenly, he's not even closing his guard as shots come through.

Writing. On. The. Wall.

More motivational speaking from Abel Sanchez to Ryan Martin...

"What did we do all this work for? Come on, now!"

A feint from Taylor and he draws away, almost taunting his man. Hard, hard left hook finds the side of Martin's head.

Martin looks like he's as confused as a mere mortal watching University Challenge.

Taylor is a Paxman of the ring. That's 5-0 on rounds, no question.
