Nick G: "Sunny Edwards is very good. Need to see him in bigger and tougher fights."

Luke Chapman: "Don’t think people realise Sunny fought like that because he knew he could have rounds off against Campos. When he fights Martinez he won’t fight like that and won’t give rounds away. Still think Sunny outboxes him."

We're not quite done with the boxing for the night as Josh Taylor defends his WBO light-welterweight title against Teofimo Lopez in New York in a couple of hours.

The Scot was heavily criticised for the display in his last fight, a highly controversial points victory over Jack Catterall in February last year.

But Taylor is adamant he will be back to his best at Madison Square Garden.

"I've prepared really diligently for this fight," Taylor told BBC Scotland.

  4. 'I'm a born winner'published at 23:22 BST 10 June 2023

Edwards beats Campos by unanimous decision

    BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

IBF flyweight champion Sunny Edwards speaking to BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra: "I knew physically he couldn't test me. When he landed and let his shots go it wasn't anything to worry me. I was trying to let him throw a few so I could open him up.

"I won't abandon my percentages to win, I'm a born winner and I know how to win.

"I've come too far to fall now, I'm 20-0. I said five fights ago 'the next five fights would change my life', now it's up to Eddie [Hearn]. I could coast through my contract but I want to prove myself against the best.

"I was kilo under weight before I got on the scales on Friday. I'm also ready for the super-flyweight challenges too. I'll take anyone anywhere if the right fight doesn't come in this division.

"Rodriguez is the best out there and that's what I want. I want him now."

  5. Postpublished at 23:18 BST 10 June 2023

Edwards beats Campos by unanimous decision

IBF flyweight champion Sunny Edwards speaking on DAZN: "I knew it was going to be tough, obviously I talk a lot but I knew it wouldn't be easy.

"He came to change his life tonight and I knew I had my eye on the future.

"Going backwards, no one can touch me. When I want to sit, square-shouldered I could put everyone to sleep. I gave Campos and his travelling fans a couple of rounds. I was trying to hit the body. I got the space when I needed it.

"The nine rounds I wanted to box and move, I won so clearly. When I want to burn some energy and sit on the ropes he can score some points and catch me but that's only because I let him.

"I'm the only one [champion] in the division that has beaten a former world champion.

"All these fighters picked up vacant belts. I had seven weeks to train and just two days to find someone for this fight. I want to the big fights now. You'll never get the best out of my in a fight like this.

"I'm the number one in the division. When Bam Rodriguez announced he was coming to flyweight he said he was going to fight me for my belt in the UK but he didn't. He wants to negotiate 50/50, I want that too."

  6. Spiderman shorts for his sonpublished at 23:12 BST 10 June 2023

Sunny Edwards was wearing Spiderman shorts tonight and he says that's because they are dedicated to his four-year-old son, who is here to watch him fight for the first time.

Edwards says: "He completed his first PlayStation game recently and it was Spiderman so I dedicate these shorts to him.'

  7. 'He has to chase his legacy'published at 23:10 BST 10 June 2023

Promoter Eddie Hearn, speaking on DAZN: "He will fight everybody and he needs to. You won't see the best of Edwards against Campos. It was a good performance, but maybe a performance that will have made over champions keen to fight him.

"Rodriguez against Edwards would be a fantastic fight. You would see him another level than in this fight.

"He has to defend his title, but he has to chase his legacy and that is where you will see the best of him.

"Him against Rodriguez is a fantastic pound-for-pound fight. I will guarantee you he will be in a unification fight next."

  8. Rodriguez next?published at 23:06 BST 10 June 2023

  10. 'Edwards a clear winner'published at 23:02 BST 10 June 2023

    Edwards v Campos

    Steve Bunce
Boxing expert on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Edwards won it and I think he's won it clearly, probably by four or five rounds.

Edwards knows he's been in a hard fight because Campos has pushed this throughout.

I like Campos' style. He's been fighting in a foreign land and given a good account of himself.

  11. Round 12published at 23:00 BST 10 June 2023

    Edwards v Campos

All or nothing for Campos now and he lands of his best punches of the fight early in the final round.

Campos has Edwards up near his own corner and you can hear his team urging him on.

Both exchange some high quality punches before Edwards finishes strongly with a flurry to the body as he looks to end the fight in style.

Off to the scorecards we go, but surely it goes Edwards' way.

  12. 'Campos here to win'published at 22:57 BST 10 June 2023

    Edwards v Campos

    Galal Yafai
2020 Olympic gold medalist on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Campos has come to win, he's stepping forward but I think the class of Sunny has shone through.

  13. Round 11published at 22:56 BST 10 June 2023

    Edwards v Campos

Campos is in unchartered territory with this the first time he has reached the 11th round of a fight.

To his credit, he doesn't appear to be tiring significantly but Edwards' movement is just so good that whatever he throws rarely connects cleanly.

Campos is getting more desperate and that's opening the door for Edwards as a number of shots get through.

  14. 'Box sensibly'published at 22:53 BST 10 June 2023

    Edwards v Campos

    Steve Bunce
Boxing expert on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

Edwards' philosophy, he told me earlier in the week, is 'as long as I win seven rounds then everything will be ok'.

It looks like he's done that and now he just needs to box sensibly and show his class.

  15. Round 10published at 22:52 BST 10 June 2023

    Edwards v Campos

Edwards keeps moving swiftly round the ring, offering up only single shots to Campos.

The Brit just needs to manage this fight to the end and not do anything silly.

Not so many big hits by Edwards but he does connect with a straight jab to the face and evades the counter well.

  17. 'Edwards in a fight'published at 22:49 BST 10 June 2023

    Edwards v Campos

    Steve Bunce
Boxing expert on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

That was a hard round for Edwards. I thought he was coasting and then Campos put some real pressure on at the end of the round.

This is a harder fight than I thought it would be for Edwards.

  18. Round 9published at 22:49 BST 10 June 2023

    Edwards v Campos

Campos lands some good shots in this round, particularly effective with the uppercut, but there's just not been enough of them.

Edwards, meanwhile, shows good variety with his body shots, throwing a couple of straight shots then going round the side.

"6-3?" he asks his corner at the bell. Into the 10th round we go.

TW: "This fight could be interesting down the stretch."

The Masked Marauder: "This Campos guy is tenacious and landing a few, but all in all, it's still the Showtime."

Liahm O'Brien: "Campos is making this a fight and trying to solve the puzzle, but Sunny’s showing his class at every distance."

  20. Round 8published at 22:44 BST 10 June 2023

    Edwards v Campos

The crowd roars as Edwards unloads a flurry of excellent shots to get off the ropes.

Campos is unable to counter the barrage but does land a good hit in the final few seconds as a warning of what he can offer.
