That is your lot for this evening.

Tomorrow night and Wednesday night are Capital One Cup-focused.

Will West Ham go down by a double-digit aggregate score against Manchester City? Can Manchester United overturn a first-leg deficit against Sunderland?

All these questions and more will be answered over the next 48 hours.

But it is goodbye for now.

A quick post-match big-up for Chris Brunt. The West Brom midfielder headed to a wide left position in the last of Pepe Mel's many second-half rejigs.

He duly delivered four good crosses (as defined by stats gurus Opta), double anyone else's total.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez on an injury to Seamus Coleman: "He felt his hamstring a little bit and that is a big worry. We will assess him know and see what the final verdict is, it is not a good sign when you see player coming off due to a soft tissue injury."

On potential new signing Lacina Traore: "He is a player we are interested in, we would love to add him to the squad. We need to go through all the necessary routes and hopefully we can do that over the next few days.

On Leighton Baines signing a new deal: "There is nothing to announce yet on Leighton Baines but we will see if we can deliver good news."

West Brom manager Pepe Mel: "For me the performance was very good. In the first half we were too open but in the second half we were too compact. Everton is a team that is very, very strong. Tonight was a difficult match for me and my team.

"It's only the first week. I need to work with my players. The players are angry - for me it's important. Regarding strikers, Shane Long is out. The team is very well, but I need one more striker. But I have Nicolas Anelka, Matej Vydra, Victor Anichebe - I'm happy."

Perhaps inspired by the suave multilingual Roberto Martinez, Pepe Mel has given his English a little outing. And it is not too bad at all.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez: "Any point is good point, but I was disappointed with the second-half performance.

"The hardest thing in first half was to get the goal and we managed that. In the second half the condition of pitch didn't allow us to get on the ball much."

Sham Gallagher: , external"Everton have dropped vital points here, but on the other hand WBA earned a well deserved point. Start of many I think."

Richard Powell:, external "Content with a point against a well drilled outfit like Everton. I'd settle for mid-table obscurity for the time being."

From Stephen in Skelmersdale: Big tests coming up now for Everton, then we'll really see whether they are top four material or not.

Luke in Surrey: Pleasing display from West Brom. Tough to take points off Everton this season, so big up Pepe Mel!

Mike, Liverpool, via text: Everton don't have the squad or the finance for CL football. To get these missing requirements the club needs investment: this is more likely with European football - the Champions League variety$ why shouldn't Everton compete? This could be the third consecutive year they finish above Liverpool whilst spending a fraction with a much more passionate support than their neighbours across Stanley Park. Everton in the Champions - yes please.

Everton midfielder Gareth Barry speaking on Sky Sports: "We knew it was going to be tough. They were going to go right to the end. At the end of the game I had a great chance from eight yards out - it's a shame they [the West Brom defence] all pushed up.

"It was a fair result in the end. It's nine draws for us now and that's too many. But if we show the form that we showed at start of season then we'll be there or thereabouts."
