So Saturday ends with Celtic and Rangers still a point clear at the top of the Premiership without having kicked a ball in anger.

Already it is looking like a two-horse race for the title, but can St Mirren or Hearts do something about that tomorrow against Scotland's two Europa League contenders?

Join us for the build-up, live commentary and post-match reaction as the Buddies host Steven Gerrard's Ibrox men from 12:15 BST, with Hearts facing Neil Lennon's holders in Glasgow from 15:00.

St Johnstone manager Tommy Wright thought his side deserved more than just a point at Easter Road.

"I enjoyed the overall performance," he says. "I thought we were the dominant team.

"A point was the least we deserved, in fact, there's no question we should have got all three points.

"Fair play to Hibs, they got goals so deserved to go in front from that point of view, but we should have won the game comfortably. I thought we played some really good football."

Hibs head coach Paul Heckingbottom tells BBC Scotland: "It's a sickener: the nature of it.

"One's the last kick of the game and offside and the other is we've lost a runner and made a mistake. It feels like a defeat.

"The goals we conceded there are tough to take. It's clearly offside.

"We've had four bad decisions in the last six games, three which were chalked off which shouldn't have been, so we're on a bad run at the moment."

A shock at the top of League One and Clyde didn't need manager Danny Lennon to don his playing boots to do so.

The 50-year-old, who came out of retirement to play against Celtic Colts in midweek, was absent from the team lines despite only being able to name four substitutes.

But Mark Lamont's first-half goal gave his side, who started the day bottom, their first win since winning promotion - and it handed favourites Falkirk their first defeat.

Raith Rovers go two points clear at the top after a convincing win over Montrose.

Forfar and Airdrieonians missed chances to go top after losing away to Peterhead and East Fife respectively.

Hamilton Academical manager Brian Rice says his side were always up against it after Jamie Hamilton was sent off after conceding a penalty with his side already a goal behind in their derby.

"Motherwell deserved to win the match, but we’re down to 10 men early on," he tells BBC Scotland.

"From the man getting sent off, it’s a penalty kick and it’s a double whammy for us.

"But we got in to it at 2-1 and then we tried to have a go second half, but that was just too much."

Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is not too pleased with the display from his side in attack as they drew with Kilmarnock.

"For long spells, it was quite predictable," he tells Sportsound. "We're looking for that individual play to try to make the difference. We need a bit more from others.

"That's not a good point for us and we need to grasp that sooner rather than later."

Livingston's fine win away to Ross County lifts Gary Holt's side into third place, a point behind the Old Firm.

County drop to fourth, while the stalemate at Rugby Park means Aberdeen drop to fifth and leaves Kilmarnock stuck at the bottom behind Hearts on goal difference despite the hosts' first point of the season.

Cove Rangers continue their impressive start to the season, the Highland League champions' win away to Stirling keeping them one point ahead at the top of League Two.

Edinburgh City, thumped by Cove in the opening game, move into second place with an impressive win away to Stenhousemuir.

Queen's Park drop to third after being held at home by Elgin, while Annan stumbled too with defeat away to Cowdenbeath.

Two goals from Lawrence Shankland - the summer signing now has nine for the season - secured a fine win away to Dunfermline Athletic that takes Dundee United three points clear at the top of the Championship.

Morton's win over Partick Thistle on Friday keeps them in second, with Shankland's former side, Ayr United, behind on goal difference after their single-goal win at home to Queen of the South.

Bobby Linn's third goal of the season hands Arbroath their first league win since being promoted as League One winners and leaves hosts Alloa Athletic at the foot of the table.

Ross County co-manager Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Scotland: "Pretty much everything was disappointing.

"Livi were better from the first minute of the game. They showed energy, they physically dominated us. We couldn't defend our penalty area. Everything we have been praised for this season we couldn't do today.

"That performance was sub-standard to say the least.

"We know the first goal in the Premier League is massive. We've had so many good reactions to going behind, certainly last season, but we didn't see any of that today."

Eight games played and Livingston are yet to taste defeat this season.

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson could not be happier with a convincing derby win.

"I thought we were excellent at times," he tells BBC Scotland. "When they went down to 10 men, we became a bit casual, but I was very pleased with them.

"I think Hamilton had one shot on target all day.

"Our success in recent years has been based on a solid back four and we were solid again today."

Livingston manager Gary Holt is delighted with his side's convincing win in Dingwall.

"We scored some really good goals," he tells BBC Scotland after their eighth game without a defeat.

"A lot was made of our results away from home and we should have got the monkey off our back last week against Kilmarnock, but we did it today.

"We know Ross County coming up last year, the bubble they've had and how difficult it is to come here, but to score four goals, I am delighted."

BBC pundits Willie Miller, the former Aberdeen manager and captain, and Allan Preston react with incredulity at Angelo Alessio's comments.

Neither can remember Kilmarnock having all the chances that the manager suggests his team had.

Kilmarnock manager Angelo Alessio tells BBC Scotland he is content with the point at home to Aberdeen - their first of the season.

"We deserved the win," he says. "We had three or four opportunities to score the goal.

"I am happy, but we have to continue this way."

Niko Hamalainen made his debut at left-back amid transfer speculation about Scotland international Greg Taylor.

"He came here one week, but he played a good match," Alessio adds.

A convincing win in the end for Motherwell against 10-man Accies at the Fountain of Youth Stadium.

The second half turned into a bit of a non event after Chris Long made it three, but all the damage was done in the first half for the hosts.

Motherwell now up and running with their first league win.

What an ending to the game that was. Hibernian were clinging on and just when they thought they'd done enough to get over the line, Jason Kerr rose highest to head home and send the away end into ecstasy.

Paul Heckingbottom's decision to withdraw Scott Allan will undoubtedly be scrutinised, but in truth, St Johnstone's second half performance warranted at least a share of the points.

A truly forgettable match at Rugby Park, but it's a first point as Killie boss for Angelo Alessio.

The hosts had the best chance too after Chris Burke fired wide having rounded Joe Lewis.

Livingston secure their biggest Premiership win since December and their first in Dingwall since December 2008.

Jack Stobbs also gets a debut goal for Livi as they romp to a 4-1 win.
