Looking ahead to tonight's Premier League game now...

Crystal Palace are assessing Wilfried Zaha, Christian Benteke and goalkeeper Vicente Guaita, who are all nursing muscle injuries, before tonight's Premier League match against Burnley.

James Tomkins, Martin Kelly and Jeffrey Schlupp are again expected to miss out.

Burnley are monitoring Thursday night's match-winner Jay Rodriguez, who was substituted late on against Watford after taking a bang to his ankle.

The game is expected to come too soon for Ashley Barnes, Robbie Brady, Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Chris Wood.

Leicester City

With the city of Leicester facing further lockdown restrictions due to a surge in coronavirus cases, the Foxes manager Brendan Rodgers says "nothing has changed" with how his side have been working so far.

"We’ll act accordingly, but we need to have agility," said Rodgers.

"We’ll keep going until we’re told otherwise."

Leicester could potentially face Crystal Palace behind closed doors because of the situation in the city, but Rodgers says "it's something I'm not thinking on".

"There’s nothing to answer on it," he added.

The Foxes travel to Goodison Park on Wednesday, to face an Everton side who have held champions Liverpool and beaten Norwich since the return of football.

“We look forward to it," said Rodgers.

"If we lose a game we can’t be derailed by it, and now we have a great chance against Everton to continue with our level of performance. We look to gain three points."

Rodgers also confirms that midfielder James Maddison is still a doubt, but he’ll be checked tomorrow. If he isn’t fit, then he’ll be available to face Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Leicester are out of the FA Cup and their grip on third place in the Premier League is under threat, with Chelsea just a point behind, but Brendan Rodgers says his side are still in a "fantastic position".

“This side is a work in progress," said Rodgers. "This is the first blip that we’ve had for 14/15 months. It’s about a process and it always has been. Our aims was to do well in the cups and qualify for Europe."

“We have to focus on our own performance and forget about everyone else. With seven games to go we’re in a brilliant position, and it’s one game at a time," said Rodgers.

“We’re still in a fantastic position to achieve what we set out to achieve. I have great confidence in the squad."

Leicester have scored only once in three games since the resumption of football, and manager Brendan Rodgers says he accepts responsibility for his side's struggles in front of goal.

“There’s a lot of focus on Jamie [Vardy]," said Rodgers.

"It’s not just about him. It’s the responsibility of the team and it’s up to me to find a way to increase our goal scoring."

Asked if he wants attacking reinforcements this summer, Rodgers said: "It’s certainly an area we’re looking at. We’ve wanted to score more goals, and we’ve done that but year on year we want to build on that. We’ll look at it as a club."

That's a wrap from Graham Potter.

Time to hear from Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers...

Brighton & Hove Albion

Graham Potter has also praised defender Shane Duffy, who made his first appearance since February against Leicester last week.

The Republic of Ireland international's father, Brian, died at the age of 53 last month.

"Shane Duffy has had a difficult time, so it was great for him to contribute last Tuesday," said Potter.

“He’s been first class around the place. He’s a great example for us, nobody was happier than him after the Arsenal win. He’ll always fight and compete for you.”

It was a pretty good weekend for Brighton even though they didn't play, with relegation rivals Watford and Aston Villa both losing.

Graham Potter's side are six points clear of the relegation zone in 15th place going into Tuesday's game against Manchester United, who are now unbeaten in 14 matches in all competitions after their FA Cup victory over Norwich on Saturday.

"We don’t think about how many points we may or may not need at this stage to be safe," said Potter.

“We’re playing one of the most in-form teams in the league, we’ll just keep trying to pick up points between now and the end of the season.

"There's been a good belief and spirit throughout the season. That's not easy when you're not winning. It says a lot about the group, and the environment we have here."

Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton head coach Graham Potter says defender Adam Webster is "touch and go" for tomorrow's match against Manchester United as he recovers from a hamstring injury suffered early on against Leicester last week.

"Adam Webster has made good progress but we're waiting on him," said the Seagulls boss.

"He'll be touch and go for tomorrow - he's the only one from the game against Leicester who'll be missing.

"Tariq Lamptey has had stitches, but he's okay for tomorrow."

One of the loan deals that is still to be extended beyond 30 June is Alexis Sanchez's from Manchester United to Inter Milan.

United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said it would happen - and Inter want him to stay, but as yet, nothing has been completed.

Not sure why they are leaving it so late.

Inter are also trying to sort out an extension to Victor Moses' loan from Chelsea.

Inter are not completely out of the Serie A title race, currently eight points behind leaders Juventus with 10 games left.

We are also set to hear from Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers shortly.

The Foxes have struggled for form since the return of football, and they travel to Carlo Ancelotti's Everton on Wednesday.

I wonder what he will have to say about the city facing a 'lockdown extension' amid a surge in the number of positive Covid-19 tests...

Liverpool fans must wait until "the time is right" to celebrate the club's first Premier League title together, says manager Jurgen Klopp.

Thousands of people celebrated on the city's waterfront on Friday, despite restrictions on gatherings because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Firefighters extinguished a small fire at the Liver Building and 34 people were injured, three seriously.

In an open letter to fans published in the Liverpool Echo, external, the German said: "I am a human being and your passion is also my passion, but right now the most important thing is that we do not have these kind of public gatherings.

"We owe it to the most vulnerable in our community, to the health workers who have given so much and whom we have applauded, and to the police and local authorities who help us as a club not to do this.

"Please - celebrate - but celebrate in a safe way and in private settings, whereby we do not risk spreading this awful disease further in our community."

Stepping away from English football momentarily, it was a great night for Real Madrid on Sunday.

Zinedine Zidane's side are two points clear at the top of La Liga after grinding out a 1-0 victory at bottom club Espanyol.

Casemiro scored the only goal as he latched onto Karim Benzema's brilliant no-look backheel through the legs of defender Bernardo Espinosa before firing home.

Real Madrid are now only six wins - or five wins and a draw - from a second La Liga title since 2012.

Neighbours Atletico can do them a favour when they visit second-placed Barcelona on Thursday.

The Premier League, English Football League and Professional Footballers' Association have announced a new scheme to increase the number of black, Asian and minority ethnic coaches.

The aim is to help BAME players move into full-time coaching roles in the professional game.

The scheme will start next season and will give six coaches a 23-month work placement at EFL clubs per campaign.

It was a difficult afternoon for Watford against Southampton on Sunday, with their task made harder by the absence of three first-team players.

Andre Gray, Nathaniel Chalobah and Domingos Quina were all left out of the Hornets' squad for the game at Vicarage Road, with the club saying their absence was "to ensure the health and safety of all players, staff and officials".

It comes after Gray reportedly held a birthday party at his home, breaking coronavirus lockdown rules.
