Incredibly proud of what we have achieved in an incredibly short time. From League One to Europa League quarter finals is a remarkable achievement. VAR hampered our season more than any other club and needs to be changed or scrapped. Let's crack the top 6 next season after a well deserved break! Dreaming is for free.

    Olly, Wolves Fan.

I am beyond proud of this Wolves team. We were in the Championship 3 seasons ago, consecutive 7th place finishes, with a small squad, QF of a European Trophy, let's rebuild stronger, keep Nuno, and push next season. Don't get greedy too quickly.

  2. Mbappe could return for PSGpublished at 11:47 BST 12 August 2020

    Atalanta v PSG (20:00 BST)

Kylian Mbappe could return for Paris St-Germain in their Champions League quarter-final against Atalanta.

The France forward, 21, has recovered from an ankle injury suffered during PSG's French Cup final win over Saint-Etienne on 24 July

Thomas Tuchel says he will feature in Lisbon if "nothing extraordinary happens".

However, Tuchel did then suggest Mbappe was most likely to be used off the bench against the Italian side.

"We are really pleased to have the possibility of finishing the match with Kylian on the pitch," said Tuchel.

"That gives Neymar someone who likes playing alongside him."

It's worth noting that the Barca-Bayern quarter-final is the ONLY tie with Champions League wins between them (10). The other six teams would all be first time winners.

Uwe Pleban: For CL semifinalists I am going with AABC: Atalanta, Atlético, Bayern and City. I think Bayern have a real shot at the whole enchilada because of Lewandowski’s fine form.

Will: There’s in no team in world football I would back to win a one-off Champions League game over a Diego Simeone Atletico side. Dark horses to reach the final I feel!

Nick Long: I saw my first game at Wolves 46 years ago, and I have never been prouder. I'm currently on holiday in France and 'watched' us lose via Twitter and the BBC last night. Safe to say my wife wondered why I was so emotional at 11pm local time!

Robert Weaver: Yet again, VAR fails football because of inept officials. It's not so much the goalkeeper being off his line, that was mms, but the encroachment by the defender that cleared the ball. It was clear & obvious.

Danny: VAR should have ordered the penalty to be retaken. What's the point of rules if they are not enforced? The 'keeper was not on his line and the defender that cleared the save had encroached. Hopefully the unpredictable nature of VAR decisions can get sorted out for the good of the game.

  14. Charlton sack Farnellpublished at 10:08 BST 12 August 2020

    Simon Stone
    BBC Sport

Chris Farnell has had his contract to act as Charlton’s solicitor terminated by the club.

BBC Sport understands the decision was taken by Tahoon Nimer, who remains the majority shareholder in the East Street Investments Group that own Charlton.

Cheshire-based Farnell has been targeted by many Charlton fans for his involvement in the ownership mess that the club finds itself in.

On Friday, the EFL rejected an application from ‘three individuals’ around their owners and directors’ test.

Two of those individuals are understood to be Farnell and Paul Elliott, who is attempting to take over ESI from Nimer and his former business partner Matt Southall.

Farnell had previously resigned from ESI. The Solicitors’ Regulation Authority is investigating a complaint about Farnell over his dealings at Charlton.

Given his involvement in the club’s legal affairs, it is not known what input Farnell will now have in Charlton.

On Friday, the club announced it had lodged an appeal to the EFL on behalf of two people.

The club are also considering their legal position in the 12-point deduction given to Sheffield Wednesday for Financial Fair Play breaches that does not take effect until next season.

Had it been activated this term, Wednesday would have been relegated instead of Charlton.

Snookered: Wolves should not be judged on the Europa League campaign. It started life as a free hit bonus and ended that way too. Sevilla a step up in class. We now need to repel the circling vultures. Keep Nuno. Make some additions. Seek progression next term. All good

  16. No loans for Wilson or Grujicpublished at 09:53 BST 12 August 2020

    Mandeep Sanghera
    BBC Sport

Liverpool will not be loaning out midfielders Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic again.

Wales international Wilson - a product of the Reds academy - has spent the last two seasons on loan at Derby County and Bournemouth respectively.

He scored seven goals for the Cherries last season as they were relegated from the Premier League.

Serbian Grujic, who was Reds manager Jurgen Klopp’s first signing, joined the club in January 2016 and had a temporary stint at Cardiff City before spending the past two seasons on loan at German side Hertha Berlin.

He helped them finish 10th in the Bundesliga last season, scoring four times in the process.

Wilson and Grujic are now back with Liverpool and will either be part of the first-team set-up or sold if an acceptable bid came in and the player wanted the club to consider it.

A small squad that put together a great but fruitless season. Too many late goals conceded not just against Sevilla but think also of Burnley and Sheffield United. Need more players to reinforce this squad and also Nuno to be at the helm.

A fantastic season. The double over Man City; a European QF run; some fabulous goals to remember. So proud of the progress made. Four quality signings needed and a new contract for Nuno, our best manager since Cullis.
