    Everton

Lampard on Donny Van de Beek: "I’ve been really impressed, on a professional level and speaking to him and seeing him training. Impressed by his fitness and game sharpness. He's a top level player, at Man Utd and Ajax, had tough time and different ways of reacting. He's shown that if you keep your keep head down and keep counsel there's a way through it and people will always respect you for that."

  3. Lampard: 'I've loved what I've seen of Richarlison'published at 14:49 GMT 17 February 2022

Southampton v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Everton

We'll finish with a couple of lines from Frank Lampard again...

On Richarlison: "Every player is different. I wouldn't compare him to other Brazilians because he's young player, but what I've seen from him I've loved. The personality he has the group love him, his aggression and constant mobility is a great thing. There is a lot more to come from him. We can achieve more here because we are ambitious and I'm an ambitious coach so hopefully we can be good for each other."

  4. 'It'll be a different challenge'published at 14:43 GMT 17 February 2022

Southampton v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Southampton

Hasenhuttl on playing four of the next five matches at home: "It is a good opportunity. This season, we've shown we are more successful at home. In the last weeks, we've played the big names if you like, now we are playing teams in the bottom part of the league. But as we all know, these games are not really easier; they are different, but not easier. That is what makes the Premier League so interesting. You have a different challenge every week."

  5. 'I'm not interested in that'published at 14:37 GMT 17 February 2022

Southampton v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Southampton

Hasenhuttl on suggestions he'd be a good fit for Manchester United: "This is not on my mind and not something that is interesting me. I don't want to speak about my future."

  6. 'Everton have a clear strategy'published at 14:33 GMT 17 February 2022

Southampton v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Southampton

Hasenhuttl on Everton: "They are much more energetic [under Frank Lampard]. Frank has made them press much higher; they have a clear strategy and plan and different behaviour now. Everybody is warned that it'll be a tough game for us."

  7. 'The level we have shown is the level we are demanding'published at 14:30 GMT 17 February 2022

Southampton v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Southampton

Hasenhuttl on recent form and confidence: "We are in a good place. We've had tough fixtures in recent weeks and only lost against Wolves. The rest were very tough against Man Utd, Man City and Spurs. Staying unbeaten against them was a massive step forward for us, but it doesn't mean life is easier now.

"We are playing teams at home in games we know points will be possible, but the next few fixtures will be super tough. The level we have shown is the level we are demanding."

"I don't know Graham too well but I know he's always open, honest and balanced about his view of the game. It's not easy to be like that so I have a lot of respect for him."

  15. Early Everton team newspublished at 13:57 GMT 17 February 2022

Southampton v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Everton

Lampard says that Vitalii Mykolenko is fit enough to be involved at St Mary's, but Demarai Gray misses out.

Abdoulaye Doucoure trained earlier today, but this weekend has come too soon. Ben Godfrey is getting "closer" to a return, but like Yerry Mina and Fabian Delph, remains a few weeks away.

  16. 'Southampton are a strong club'published at 13:53 GMT 17 February 2022

Southampton v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Everton

Lampard on Southampton striker Armando Broja: "I gave him his debut at Chelsea. He's a very nice, talented young boy. He came into us at the start of Covid and started training with us and showed the attributes you're seeing now in the Premier League at Southampton. He's fast, he's strong, he's got a real eye for goal. I'm very aware of his talents."

On Southampton generally: "They've been together a long time. Through tough times, they stick together and push in the same direction. That is a sign of a strong club with a manager who has belief in his players. They are in good form and it'll be a tough match."

  17. 'We've got players that are hungry'published at 13:45 GMT 17 February 2022

Southampton v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Everton

Lampard on potential selection dilemmas on Saturday: "They are my choices; there is an argument for saying 'same again' [as Leeds], but we thought the same going into Newcastle and it didn't quite work, so it is not a statement of fact. The players have to feel ready through the week that they can find a way into the team, or if we change our approach for the opposition. Leeds to Southampton, two good teams in lots of different ways. So I'll consider that; we've got players that are hungry."

  18. 'Hopefully Leeds can be a springboard'published at 13:39 GMT 17 February 2022

Southampton v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Everton

Frank Lampard on Jonjoe Kenny: "The fans will relate to [the video of his celebration vs Leeds], it is gold. But he is not just a local lad with a big heart. He's a very good player. When you've got lads like that in the group they help with determination and a positive feeling. He dug in against Leeds; hopefully that is a springboard for him. Because we are a new staff and everything is fresh, there is a chance to impress. What better way to do it than the way Jonjoe did last week?"

  19. 'Lots of work to be done'published at 13:33 GMT 17 February 2022

Southampton v Everton (Sat, 15:00 GMT)

    Everton

Lampard on squad confidence after the Leeds win: "Hopefully it helps. It was a very good performance, we know that and we've analysed that. We've had run of long run of tough results so that is one thing that can give you that little bounce. But of course, we need to keep our heads very settled. It is one result; we've had two wins, one in the cup and one in the league, but there is a lot of work to be done."
