  1. Blues stretch leadpublished at 17:57 GMT 26 March 2022

    Champions now four points clear

That’s all from us on a day when we were low on quantity but high on quality in our Irish Premiership programme.

The headlines go to Linfield who stretched their lead at the top to four points after a last-gasp win at Warrenpoint, piling the pressure onto title rivals Cliftonville and Glentoran.

Elsewhere, there was no shortage of goals or drama as Crusaders and Glenavon won high-scoring encounters at Dungannon and Coleraine.

We’ll have updates from Glentoran’s game against Carrick on Monday night before live stream coverage of the Irish Cup semi-final between Crusaders and Cliftonville next Friday night.

    Bye for now.

We came out really quick and got the goal but momentum quickly swung towards Crusaders. We let them back into it staright and made it easy for them. I thought their equaliser was a foul (on keeper Declan Dunne) and that's another refereeing decision that's probably cost us that momentum when we were in front. But we can talk about referees, we have to talk about our own performance and today we weren't good enough.

  3. 'We were miles ahead of them' - Baxterpublished at 17:51 GMT 26 March 2022

    Quote Message

This is really all about getting big performances at the right time of the season and we've done that in the last four to five weeks. We've an Irish Cup semi-final next week and we took seven or eight top players out of the firing line but we were miles ahead of them in terms of quality of finishing and quality of movement. We had them at arms length all day.

  4. Hamilton slams red-carded keeperpublished at 17:30 GMT 26 March 2022

    Coleraine 2-3 Glenavon

    Quote Message

James (Taylor) has let us down big time. There are no excuses for that and I’m so disappointed in him. He has come in this season and been brilliant for us but to do that at such a vital, crucial part of the season is not acceptable. He’s now out for six games – five after the split and then, if we were fortunate enough to get seventh place, out of the play-off as well so he has left us in a really bad situation. It left our players 13 or 14 minutes of a really tough time defending balls and throwing their bodies on the line and our centre forward having to go back and play in nets. The players stood strong and were resilient and I’m proud of them.

    Gary Hamilton, Glenavon manager

  5. 'Not good enough' - Kearneypublished at 17:24 GMT 26 March 2022

    Coleraine 2-3 Glenavon

    Quote Message

We made a fist of it and the red card (for Glenavon goalkeeper James Taylor) probably made it that but to be honest we weren’t good enough today and there’s no getting away from that. We’re still trying to push and trying to finish as high up the table as possible. At 2-0 we rallied and how it wasn’t 2-2 before it went 3-0 I’m not sure but without the red card, we struggled today because we are missing key personnel.

  20. RED CARDpublished at 16:35 GMT 26 March 2022

    Coleraine 1-3 Glenavon

The drama isn't over after that goal as Glenavon goalkeeper James Taylor gets involved in a confrontation with goalscorer Kirk McLaughlin as the young striker tries to get the ball from the net.

Taylor is initially booked by Tim Marshall but after consulting with his assistant, the referee comes back to show the goalkeeper a red card.

With no replacement keeper on the bench, striker Matthew Fitzpatrick has taken the gloves.

Maybe we had written this game off too soon!
