So my brothers and sisters, you can get the news of today as well as the previews for Friday on our horse racing page right here.

I've given you key times, some odds and a bit more info on Friday in the posts below.

Our full preview will be published shortly and I'm reliably informed it will include tips from our pundits, which may well prove handy.

And finally, a massive thank you for your company today and yesterday. It's been a joy to bring you the latest from this incredible event.

I hope Friday brings you a few wins, maybe a few drinks and above all else, a happy sporting experience.

Farewell one and all.

BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

So on Friday it's a mix of 5 Live Sports Extra - also available in this live page - from 13:15 - 18:00.

BBC Radio 5 Live will also be airing the Gold Cup from 14:00 - 16:00.

Our live page will be up and running from around 12:45.

3-1 A Plus Tard, 7-2 Galvin, 9-2 Minella Indo, 8-1 Al Boum Photo

10-1 Protektorat, Tornado Flyer, 16-1 Chantry House, Royale Pagaille,

20-1 Asterion Forlonge, 33-1 Santini 50-1 Aye Right

Other plot lines....

Should Rachael Blackmore guide A Plus Tard to victory she would become the first female jockey to win the Gold Cup.

Meanwhile two-time champion Al Boum Photo could become the first horse to regain his title since Kauto Star in 2009, and the first triple victor since Best Mate 18 years ago.

Trainer Henry de Bromhead saddles both Mindella Indo and A Plus Tard in the big one.

So who will he pick as a fancy?

"I cannot separate the two," said De Bromhead of his pair. "A Plus Tard has probably got a bit more pace than Indo but both have a lot of class."

He's given little away there.

The 2021 champion Minella Indo, runner-up A Plus Tard (both pictured) and Al Boum Photo - the winner in 2019 and 2020 - are in the field.

My word, it sounds like a battle already.

There will be 11 runners in the showpiece event of the Festival. It's one jockeys, trainers and owners all dream of having on the CV.

Tomorrow's races run from 13:30 to 17:30 but the Gold Cup is in the middle, so make sure you don't sign up for the school run.

Here's the klaxon.... 15:30 is when you need to be free.

Tomorrow of course it is all about the Gold Cup...

Frank Keogh
BBC Sport at Cheltenham

A coachload of racegoers from Yate, near Bristol, have been enjoying St Patrick's Day - with everyone sporting green hats.

"You don't have to be Irish to celebrate," said one of the party, Jane Marshall.

"We come to Cheltenham every year. It's manic but a great atnosphere,"

My brothers and sisters.... that was another lively day.

Charlie Poste
Former jump jockey on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

Sensational for Lucy Turner but what a performance from Chambard who toughed it out and showed greater resolution for me.

Just to mark your card... Venetia Williams runs Royale Pagaille in the Gold Cup tomorrow.

Looks like it's around 10-1.

Andrew Thornton
Former Gold Cup-winning jockey on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

One thing you know with Venetia Williams' horses, when they hit the front, very rarely do they get passed. They are just as tough as teak.

Trainer Venetia Williams saddled L'Homme Presse yesterday and now she has Chambard to celebrate too.

It could be worth keeping an eye on her runners tomorrow. That is a yard in form.

Two to jump, Chambard leads it out, Mister Coffey to challenge, Chambard not going to give it up easy, Didero Vallis wants a bit of the action.... Chambard hanging in.... just.

Chambard takes it. Lucy Turner in the saddle gets her first win at the Festival.

A sweet end to the day!

Three to jump. Didero Vallis out top, Mister Coffey looking primed to take it up...

I stand corrected. We had two early fallers and one of them is still receiving treatment.

Ain't that a Shame is prominent and there are plenty of chances. Almazhar Garde and Omar Maretti will not contend, they're shattered.

I'd be surprised if Smoking Gun is not a contender here.
