    FT: Glasgow 35-24 Sharks

Contrasting emotions for the two Scottish sides today - a heart-breaking last gasp defeat for Edinburgh away at Benetton, followed by that bonus point win for Glasgow.

We'll be back next weekend, when Glasgow face the Lions, and Edinburgh take on the Stormers.

    Bye for now.

  2. 'Some of the best rugby we've played'published at 17:25 BST 2 October 2021

    FT: Glasgow 35-24 Sharks

Glasgow head coach Danny Wilson has been speaking to BBC Radio Scotland post-match:

"The first 50 minutes are some of the best rugby we've played", he said. "Then after the disallowed try the game seemed to lose its way. Lots of delays, and we fed them a bit with some poor exits, but I'll take a bonus point win at home."

  3. Man of the Matchpublished at 17:16 BST 2 October 2021

    FT: Glasgow 35-24 Sharks

Centre Sam Johnson has been given Man of the Match - he defended effectively, and linked up well with Sione Tuipulotu in midfield - top performance from Glasgow's number 12.

    Quote Message

Glasgow were immense in the first half, really clinical and varied it well in attack. They got the try early doors in the second half, but then it faded away after the disallowed try. I think Glasgow took their foot off the gas with the game won.

  5. Full-timepublished at 17:09 BST 2 October 2021

    Glasgow 35-24 Sharks

Glasgow deserved victors, as they get their first win of the season. An electric start in the first half meant the result was never really in doubt against a poor Sharks team.

  6. Closing stagespublished at 17:03 BST 2 October 2021

    Glasgow 35-24 Sharks

This game is petering out. Glasgow came forward but Sharks win a penalty which they kick over halfway.

Just over a minute to go at Scotstoun.

    Quote Message

It is a bit easy for the Sharks. They're making yards every time they carry, and on that occasion it's a couple of phases and they go over the try line

    Mchunu

From the yellow card offence, Sharks go through the phases before gaps appear and Mchunu dives over to score.

    Pienaar kicks the conversion.

  9. Sin-binpublished at 16:55 BST 2 October 2021

    Glasgow 35-17 Sharks

Glasgow's levels have dropped in the second half, and repeatedly giving away penalties costs them. Lewis Bean shown a yellow card. Could get worse for the hosts...

  10. TMO checkpublished at 71 mins

    Glasgow 35-17 Sharks

The officials are looking at a potential deliberate knock-on from Rufus McLean, but he is clearly wrapping his arm in the tackle, so it is just a scrum for Sharks.

  11. A bit scrappypublished at 16:45 BST 2 October 2021

    Glasgow 35-17 Sharks

It's all been a bit flat in the last 10 minutes or so. Glasgow throw the ball away at a lineout, and Sharks then drop the ball as they look to capitalise.

Before that, Sharks' winger Thaakir Abrahams stepped past a couple of defenders. It is the first time I remember him having the ball all game, which is a reflection of how the South Africans have attacked today.

  12. Let Offpublished at 64 mins

    Glasgow 35-17 Sharks

Silly penalty given away by Glasgow for hands in the ruck, but Sharks kick the ball dead in an attempt to gain a couple more yards. Pretty poor - I'd back myself to hit touch from there, and I'm a long way from professional rugby.

  13. Sharks' spell of pressurepublished at 16:35 BST 2 October 2021

    Glasgow 35-17 Sharks

Finally the visitors are asking questions of Glasgow, but the hosts defend well and win a free kick - great work from Cole Forbes under a high ball.

Sharks show some characteristic South African power, as their prop forward Thomas du Toit barges over.

    Conversion successful.

  15. Rare errorspublished at 16:29 BST 2 October 2021

    Glasgow 35-10 Sharks

Another knock-on from Glasgow gives Sharks possession in a promising position. The visitor's backline have hardly seen the ball this afternoon, but they might get a chance here.

  16. Sharks Scrumpublished at 16:25 BST 2 October 2021

    Glasgow 35-10 Sharks

Glasgow run from their own 22, and make it to halfway, but the move breaks down as Cole Forbes knocks on. More exciting attacking play from the hosts, but not quite the execution on this occasion.

  17. Disallowed trypublished at 16:21 BST 2 October 2021

    Glasgow 35-10 Sharks

Tuipulotu is deemed to have blocked off a defender in the build-up, which seems a little harsh. I very much doubt that the defender would have been in a position to stop Tuipulotu if they hadn't run into each other.

  18. try

    Try - Glasgow 40-10 Sharkspublished at 16:17 BST 2 October 2021

    Sione Tuipulotu

Wow, best move of the game gives Glasgow their fifth try. It comes off the back of a scrum, George Hornes loops around the back, breaks through, and then passes back inside to Tuipulotu who charges in under the posts.

    Hang on, they're checking this...

  19. Missed Penaltypublished at 16:16 BST 2 October 2021

    Glasgow 35-10 Sharks

Curwin Bosch can't find the target off the tee - not the Sharks' day.

  20. 'Ideal start'published at 16:14 BST 2 October 2021

Glasgow go through the phases, and it perhaps looks like the move has broken down, but great recognition from George Horne to see the space down the blindside. Forbes gets the bounce, and it's the ideal start to this second half
